Meet Eric Watts

The Guy Who Loves Solving the Crappie Puzzle

For Eric, crappie fishing isn't just about finding fish. It's about understanding why they're where they are, what they'll respond to, and how to put all the pieces together. The puzzle pieces Eric most often carefully examines are weather conditions, water temps, water clarity, atmospheric pressure, bait selection, lure presentation, boat control, and target species amongst many other variables.

Eric is a verified guide with Guide ARK through the State of Arkansas, with over two decades of fishing experience. He brings local knowledge, modern sonar technology, and hands-on instruction to every trip. Whether you're learning the basics or refining your technique, his goal is to help you understand the process, enjoy the experience, and make the most of your time on the water.

Safety, patience, and taking care of people come first. To him the best days are the ones when customers leave with great memories—and a better understanding of fishing.

When asked what he loves most about guiding, without hesitation Eric responds, "The smiles! There is nothing like seeing families bond, friends make memories or individuals unlock a new skill set."
