Eric Watts
For Eric Watts owner and operator of Natural State Fishing, guiding is all about fitting the pieces of the puzzle together. "Crappie fishing is a big puzzle. My satisfaction comes from analyzing the details of each piece and fitting them together to find success on the water." The puzzle pieces Eric most often carefully examines are weather conditions, water temps, water clarity, atmospheric pressure, bait selection, lure presentation, boat control, and target species amongst many other variables.
When asked why he guides the Mississippi native, raised in Central Arkansas responds, "To give others the peace and joy I get from fishing." Led by Christian values instilled in him by his parents from childhood, Eric truly believes in taking care of people. From the first time you meet him you will know his primary goals are to keep you safe and make sure you have a great experience.
With over two decades of fishing experience Eric dedicates countless hours to meticulously studying crappie patterns. As a full-time guide his day by day experience on the water allows him to quickly determine the best approach for each trip ensuring his clients have the absolute best chance at a productive fishing day.
Clients taut Eric as professional, knowledgeable, patient, and thorough. Quite often clients schedule two or more future trips with NSF after their first experience. When asked what he loves most about guiding, without hesitation Eric responds, "The smiles! There is nothing like seeing families bond, friends make memories or individuals unlock a new skill set."
